First, let me preface with the fact that I did not bring my big cameras to this event. Just one more thing to have to lug around! So please don't judge these photos! Haha! On December 3rd we took Sadie to see Yo Gabba Gabba at the Verizon Theatre. I asked several friends before booking the tickets how their kids like it when they went in Phoenix last year. They all raved about it. Our experience was not as great as theirs, but, we consider it a lesson learned! It is about 2 hours to the Verizon Theatre, as it is all the way on the West Side of the metroplex. It was pouring rain so we left extra early just in case. We had planned on Sadie napping the whole way there. Nope! Slept for about 30 minutes. We got there really early, so made a stop at Starbucks for some coffee and hot chocolate. Sadie LOVED the hot chocolate. She felt like a big kid having her coffee. We then headed over to the theatre. We were still pretty early so were not allowed to be seated yet. There were several of the characters out to take photos and whatnot. Sadie was excited for this until she got near them. She began crying as soon as it was our turn to take a photo. Poor girl. We finally got to go to our seats. The show began and Sadie BURST into tears once again because she was petrified. It was so loud and there were so many lights. Maybe just a little too young for this. She slowly came around and started having fun. I managed to get a couple photos of her happy during the show. We left at intermission. I felt bad that we spent a fortune on the tickets and that it was kind of a disaster, but, you live and learn. On the way home we stopped at Pei Wei and she was all over the place. What a day!
To this day, Sadie still talks about Yo Gabba Gabba and says, "scared, I cry." She finally has started watching the show again. We have decided that live events with kids everywhere are not really our thing. Ha!
